The Best Freezer Meal to Share

The Best Freezer Meal to Share

I tested 14 freezer meal recipes on my neighbors, and here is the number one favorite!

This recipe comes from my cookbook called "Time to Eat" which is available on Amazon. (amazon)

These dinners are designed to be able to be kept in your freezer until you want to make them or share them (up to six months). They are perfect for sharing with a new mom, new neighbor, sick family, or anyone else that could use a homemade dinner. They are kept in disposable baking pans that you can get in a 2 pack at Dollar-tree, or in bulk on Amazon (amazon). Disposable pans are great for this because they won't need to wash the dish and return it.

Million Dollar Spaghetti
This is everyone's very favorite freezer meal that I made! It got the most complements from my neighbors! It's easy to make 2 at a time because a lot of the ingredients call for 1/2 a package.

"My kids couldn't get enough of the Million Dollar Spaghetti, they gobbled up the leftovers the next day before I even got a chance to serve them at dinner time. I love the convenience of pulling it out of the freezer and popping it directly into the oven." --Holly Thurgood

1/2 package spaghetti (8 oz)
1/4 pound ground beef
1/4 pound turkey sausage
1/2 jar spaghetti sauce (12 oz)
1/2 container cottage cheese (6 oz)
1/2 package cream cheese, softened (4 oz)
1/4 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions to make immediately
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Transfer to a bowl and mix spaghetti sauce into ground beef.

Spread half the spaghetti noodles into the 8x8 dish. Next, spread a thin layer of 1/2 the ground beef/sauce mixture over the spaghetti. Then, mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream together in a bowl; spread mixture over spaghetti. Layer remaining spaghetti over creamy mixture. Pour remaining ground beef mixture over spaghetti and then spread the remaining cream cheese mixture. Top with the mozerella cheese and Italian seasoning.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Instructions to freeze and make later
